Plagiarism Policy

What is plagiarism?

Plagiarism is defined as the act of using someone else's research work, ideas, or words without giving proper acknowledgment to the original author and source. It involves presenting another person's work as one's own, whether it is through direct copying, paraphrasing without citation, or any other form of unauthorized use.

What Constitutes Plagiarism?

Plagiarism can take various forms, including but not limited to:

  1. Handing in someone else's work as your own, whether in whole or in part.
  2. Putting your name on another person's research work or claiming authorship without making significant contributions.
  3. Copying text or ideas from a source without providing proper citation or quotation marks.
  4. Failing to give correct information about the source of a quotation or reference.
  5. Replicating sentence structures and ideas from a source without attribution.
  6. Using someone else's data, figures, or images without permission or acknowledgment.

Our plagiarism policy

At IJOHMN, we consider plagiarism as a serious offense and a breach of ethical standards in academic publishing. We strictly prohibit any form of plagiarism in the submitted manuscripts.

  1. Plagiarism Check: To ensure the originality of the research work, we employ plagiarism detection tools like Similarity Check powered by iThenticate, provided by Crossref. This is to identify and prevent any instances of plagiarism before publication.
  2. Rejection of Plagiarized Manuscripts: If any submitted manuscript is found to contain plagiarized, copied, or pirated material, it will be rejected, and the authors will be notified of the plagiarism issue.
  3. Post-Publication Plagiarism: In case plagiarism is detected after the publication of an article, we reserve the right to remove the manuscript from the issue and take appropriate actions.

Anti-Plagiarism Declaration

By submitting their papers to IJOHMN, all authors must declare the following:

  1. They are aware that plagiarism is unethical and illegal, and they understand that using another person's intellectual property without proper attribution is not acceptable.
  2. They certify that all contributions to their research work have been duly acknowledged, and sources from other published or unpublished works have been cited appropriately.
  3. They take full responsibility for the content of the article and ensure that any incomplete references are their sole responsibility.

Policy on Redundant Publication

Authors must adhere to the policy that the submitted work is not under consideration or published in any other journal simultaneously. Submitting the same research work in multiple journals is considered redundant publication or salami publication, and it is strictly discouraged.

By complying with these plagiarism and publication policies, authors ensure the integrity and originality of their work, contributing to the credibility and trustworthiness of scholarly publishing in the academic community.
